Catherine (Kate) Butler, MD MA, is a Core Investigator at the Seattle VA HSD Center of Innovation and the UW Kidney Research Institute, a clinical nephrologist at the Seattle VA, and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on opportunities to improve person-centered care for adults with kidney failure. She has a particular interest in clinical care and bioethics in settings of healthcare resource limitation including kidney transplant allocation and episodes of resource scarcity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her research has been supported by VA and NIDDK.
