Dr. Joe Frank is a general internist physician and a Core Investigator with the Seattle/Denver Center of Innovation (COIN) for Veteran-Centered and Value-Driven Care. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Indiana University, completed Internal Medicine residency at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a research fellowship with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Frank serves as the Section Head of Pain Medicine at the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System, where he directs the interdisciplinary Chronic Pain & Wellness Center. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he co-directs the Pain Science Program, which investigates new class of psychological and neuroscience-based treatments aiming for recovery from chronic pain.
