Dr. Rao is an internal medicine physician who studies innovative health care delivery models for patients with complex medical and social needs. Her research focuses on strategies to identify and address patients’ social needs and peer educator programs for chronic disease self-management.
She received her BA from Stanford University and completed medical school at Brown University, followed by residency and chief residency at the University of Washington. She also completed an MS degree in Health Systems and Population Health at the University of Washington School of Public Health. She continues to practice primary care at the Seattle VA.
