Dr. Devendorf is a clinical psychologist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Seattle Puget Sound VA. He is also a Senior Fellow at the University of Washington School of Public Health in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health. His research focuses on suicide, depression, and mental health stigma toward these conditions.

Dr. Devendorf is passionate about bridging clinical science with practice to improve Veterans’ care. His current research aims to find ways to integrate loved ones—family, friends, and romantic partners—into Veteran suicide prevention through equipping them with knowledge, skills, and resources. He also currently sees patients in Primary Care Mental Health-Integration (PCMHI). Dr. Devendorf identifies as a mental health advocate who leverages his lived experience to spread awareness and reduce stigma. Toward these goals, he has written numerous pieces for popular press outlets.
