Education Core

Education: Innovative Dissemination

Finding ways to disseminate and implement SD COIN research is our goal. We look for innovative ways to achieve this. We do not believe there is one way to "get the word out". There are many and we are interested in exploring what works now and what will become available in the future. We believe there is not simply one way to do this and apply a number of methods.

Twitter

For instance, follow us on Twitter at @SeaDenCOIN to find out about upcoming cyberseminars our researchers are giving. Or learn about the publications we are constantly putting out. Look and see who we are following and who is following us to find many of researchers also on Twitter. You can find a community of researchers who are truly innovative.

Visual Abstracts

We are also using visual abstracts to make people more familiar with our research publications. See all our rapidly expanding collection.

Health Findings in Focus Podcast

Podcast: What does height have to do with disease risk

On this episode of Health Findings in Focus our Investigator Dr. Sridharan Raghavan talks about his recent paper, “A multi-population phenome-wide association study of genetically-predicted height in the Million Veteran Program”. The paper draws on data from the VA Million Veteran Program, which is a national research program to learn how genes, lifestyle, and military exposures affect health and illness. Listen to learn how height might play a role in certain diseases and what this research means.

Podcast: Relational Coordination in VA: Getting to Know RC

Today we meet with Dr. Heather Gilmartin to find out what Relational Coordination at the VA is all about. But just some background for those getting to know RC:
Relational Coordination is a mutually reinforcing process of communicating and relating for the purpose of task integration.
Relational Coordination has been shown to improve team performance and high reliability through improved communication and relationships within and between teams.

Slidedocs

A slidedoc is a document created using presentation software, where visuals and words unite to illustrate one clear point per page. They're meant to be printed or distributed instead of presented. The result is a medium that can be read more quickly than a document.
