Mission

In order to promote Veteran community engagement, patient-centered research, and translation of Veteran Health Administration research findings in practice and community settings, this Group will work in partnership with, and provide recommendations to researchers (in the Seattle Center of Innovation) throughout the research process, from topic generation to dissemination and implementation of results.

What Veteran Engagement Group for Research Members Do

 

We need you to bring your perspectives, experiences, and suggestions to improve VA research!

As a member you would:

  • Routinely attend monthly virtual meetings for 1.5-2 hours
  • Review meeting materials prior to the meeting
  • Share your unique experiences and perspectives
  • Provide feedback to VA researchers on research ideas and results
  • Help ensure research is Veteran-centered
  • Connect with other Veterans
  • Compensation of $150 per meeting
 

Our research topics include:

  • Improving healthcare services
  • Mental and behavioral health
  • Patient-provider communication
  • Medication (e.g. prescribing, safety, patient use)
  • Women’s health
